Recall
how you sometimes have an "aha!" when you talk to colleagues about how
they handle a specific issue. Here's your opportunity to upgrade your skills by
hearing a panel of pros discuss exactly what they do and say about everyday issues.
Come join experts to learn about: Best
practices in helping the discouraged or depressed job seeker. How to
coach job search clients who are reluctant to network. How to best engage
clients in the first session so they won't drop out. How to help clients
handle rejection. How to assist clients who say they have too many ideas
about possible careers. How to help clients who have trouble making
decisions. How to work with clients who have unrealistic expectations. Panelists
will include practitioners in private practice, government, and universities.
They won't just talk generally; they will share some of the exact phrases they
use-ones they have arrived at after many years of trying various approaches. You'll
also have an opportunity to discuss their suggested approaches, and add your own.
There will be tables for practitioners in government, universities, outplacement
firms and private practice.
Join us for this unusual and very practical skills enhancement program.
Review of Meeting:
At
our last meeting on October 6, 2004 - "Skills Enhancement: Experienced Practitioners
Share Best Practices" - four pros shared their approaches to issues such
as: -How to help the discouraged or depressed job seeker -How to coach clients
who are reluctant to network -How to assist clients who have trouble making decisions
The four panelists were Nancy Wallace, Barbara Suddarth, Ruth Poole and David
Reile. Participants commented that they were "insightful, informative and
very helpful"; an "excellent panel (with) provocative answers"
to typical issues; "good balance between presentations and interaction...one
of the best"; "rich dialogue I really appreciated": and "a
terrific meeting". If you weren't able to attend, we hope you can join
