Review of Meeting: Once
again, Lynne Waymon got all of us on our feet, practicing invaluable techniques
to ensure that our initial contacts with others are memorable and effective.
We learned easy ways to learn the names of people we meet and ways to help them
learn ours. We practiced introducing ourselves not by titles and organizations
but by what we do, with an example: "I help prospective and
new retirees plan exciting futures for themselves. Yesterday I helped a
banker map out his retirement dream of opening an ice cream store in Seattle."
If you missed the program, don't
miss Lynne's fabulous book, Make Your Contacts Count. It is filled with
ways to make all of our contacts with others more meaningful and memorable.
